Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Camera Options on the Setup Page-
Under Camera Options, you will find everything you need to add, view, and modify specific settings for each camera. To use these features, at least one camera must be connected to the computer, either directly or through a network. You will know a camera is successfully connected if you see a live feed in the video display box. If you have more than one camera, you can switch the view to other cameras by using the Camera Selector feature.
When you first install Eyecopia, you will be walked through the camera installation of any camera that you want monitored, both wired and wireless devices. As your monitoring needs change, you may find that you want to add new cameras to Eyecopia, or stop certain cameras from being connected to your Eyecopia system. To do so, you will use the Add and Remove buttons, located next to the Camera Options heading.
Add Camera
To add a camera, select the Add button. A new dialog window like the one on the right will open. You can add a new camera at any time and the procedure is very similar to what you did during the initial installation of Eyecopia.

Remove Camera
If you want to stop monitoring from a specific camera, use the Camera Selector to select the specified camera. Then, click on the Remove button. When you remove a camera, you are simply telling Eyecopia to ignore the selected camera device. If you decide that you want Eyecopia to monitor that camera in the future, you can easily add it back by clicking the Add button. If you do add a camera back, Eyecopia will remember all the previous setup preferences for the camera.
Setup
When you click the Setup button, the
Camera Setup Wizard will be displayed. This
is the same wizard that starts when you install a new camera. This feature
allows you easy access to all of the camera specific settings at any time.

Setup Wizard.
Options
When you click the Options button, a new window will open displaying the options menu for your camera. The menu is unique for each specific camera type, as it is actually the options menu provided by the camera driver itself. Since it is not part of Eyecopia software, a full description is not available. However, the information included here will often relate to image enhancement settings, similar to those you would find on a TV. Examples include brightness, contrast or hue levels.
Record Now
If you would like to bypass the motion detection process and record an event to the Event Inbox manually, you can use this feature. Make sure you have selected the camera you want using the Camera Selector, then click the Record Now button to start recording an event manually. Click the button again to stop recording the event.
External View
By clicking the External View button, you will open the Eyecopia Live window. This will allow you to watch a live view of any connected camera without using Eyecopia's main interface. You may also double-click the live view image on the Setup page to perform this action.
Show Mask
The Show Mask button will toggle on and off a display of the masking that is applied to the currently displayed camera. While you must access the Camera Setup Wizard to add or modify this masking, this feature allows you to quickly check which areas are masked. This button, like all toggle buttons in Eyecopia, is highlighted when on and light gray when off. Buttons may sometimes appear dark gray when they are disabled, indicating that the feature is currently unavailable due to some other setting or occurrence.
Sound Alerts
Eyecopia will play an audio alert whenever a new video event is created.
You can identify a custom sound alert for each camera monitored on your
Eyecopia system. You can choose from several Eyecopia sounds provided or
you can add your own sounds. To select a sound, use the arrows on the
right side of the Sound Selector. If you select None, there
will be no sound alerts for new notifications from this camera.
- To manually play the selected sound, click on the Play button.
- To add a new sound, select the
button. The program
will open a new window for you to locate the sound file on your
computer. The file must be in the .wav format. This is the most commonly
used file type for sounds. - You may remove any sound you have added if you no longer want it
on your Sound Selector list. Just click on the
icon and click
OK in the popup window. You can not remove the default Eyecopia
sounds, so the delete icon will be disabled for these sounds.
