Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Contact List on the Notify Page-
Eyecopia uses the contact information you provide to send notifications. The Contacts list is displayed on the top left of the Notify page. The Contacts list displays the name and status of all Eyecopia contacts, including the guest account. This is also the area where you can add, edit, or remove contacts.
Contact List Icons and Status Messages
The icon directly to the left of each name provides some information about the status of the contact with regards to their Eyecopia Remote permissions. In addition, Eyecopia will provide a status message directly below the Contacts list that provides additional detail. This status information is helpful, especially if you are unsure why a contact cannot connect through Eyecopia Remote.The variety of status messages and their associated icons are discussed below.
This user can connect via Eyecopia Remote
This user is currently connected via
Eyecopia Remote
This user is not able to connect via Eyecopia Remote right now because
none of their notification schedules are active This means that
the current time is not included in the schedules you have created for
this contact.
This user is connected via Eyecopia Remote, but is unable to
view one or more cameras due to the notification schedule settings.
This means that the contact has permission to view at least one
camera through Eyecopia Remote right now, but not all of the cameras on
the system are available to the contact due to notification schedule
permissions.
This
user is unable to connect via Eyecopia Remote because no password is set
for them. You can change this by clicking on the Set Password
button in the Contact Profile for this
user to provide a password. You can then click on the Invite button
to notify the user of the new password
This
user is unable to connect via Eyecopia Remote because no notification
schedules allow them Remote access. To change this, you will need to
edit or define a new notification schedule
for this contact so that they can connect using Eyecopia Remote.
When an eye appears on the icon, it means that the contact
is currently connected at a remote location using Eyecopia Remote. You can find out more
about connected users by looking at
Eyecopia Remote Connections. If you do not see an eye (
,
),
no one is connected remotely. However, contacts may still be receiving
notifications through other methods.
Add a new contact
When you click on the Add Contact button, a popup window will ask for the new contact's name. Enter the name and click OK. The name will now be shown under Contacts.
Rename an existing contact
Click on the Edit Contact button to modify a contact's name. A popup window will ask for the updated name of the contact. Enter the name and click OK. The contact will be updated in the contact list.
Remove an existing contact
Select the contact you would like to delete from the contact list. Click on the Remove Contact button to remove a contact's name permanently.
