Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Eyecopia's External Live View-
The Eyecopia Live window allows you to watch a live view of any camera connected to your Eyecopia server outside of the main program interface. The main interface can be closed completely and the Eyecopia Live window will remain open. You can access the Eyecopia Live window by either:
- Using the External View toggle button from the Setup page
- Selecting the Show Live View option from the System Tray menu
There are several features accessible from the Eyecopia Live window, each described in detail below.
Jump to Main Interface
If you would like to quickly return to the Eyecopia main interface,
click on the Eyecopia icon (
) on the top left
of the Eyecopia Live window. The Eyecopia Live window will
remain open, but focus will shift to the main interface.
Multiple Camera View
You can switch between a single camera view and a view displaying all
available cameras by clicking on the
icon.
Stay on Top
You can keep the Eyecopia Live window on top of all other
applications by selecting the
icon. Select it again to return to normal window mode.
Full Screen
You can maximize the Eyecopia Live window to full screen by
selecting the
icon. Click it again to return to the normal size view. You may also
double-click the video image to switch back and forth from full screen
mode.
Full screen mode does not change the resolution of the video feed you are watching. Therefore, most camera views appear somewhat grainy at this size.
Close Window
You can close the Eyecopia Live window by selecting the
icon in the top
right corner. You can also close the Eyecopia Live window by toggling off
the External View button
from the Setup page in the Eyecopia main interface. Closing the
Eyecopia Live window does not turn off monitoring or close the
Eyecopia program itself.
Record Now
You can manually start recording an Eyecopia event by clicking on the Record Now button. If you are in multiple camera view mode, this button is not displayed. However, in either single or multiple camera view mode you can start manually record by right-clicking on the desired camera view and selecting the Record Now option. Repeat either of these actions to stop recording.
Switching to other camera views
In single camera view mode, you may switch the live view to other connected cameras by using the Camera Selector, just like the one shown on the Setup page. The currently selected camera will be the same in all live views, within the main interface and in the Eyecopia Live window. This selector does not appear in multiple camera view mode or if you only have one connected camera device.
If you have a mouse wheel, you can also use this to switch between selected cameras.
