-How to Add Contacts to Eyecopia-
It is necessary to create a new contact and provide the proper information in order to send any type of notification to that person, with the exception of the guest account for Eyecopia Remote. This guide walks you through the process of adding a new contact.
If you want to send notifications to one person with multiple email addresses or cell phones, just create additional contact profiles for each variation. For example, you can make a Bob @ home and a Bob @ work profile. This method makes it easy to create unique notification schedules for each address.
Add contacts:
Open Eyecopia and select the Notify tab to go to the
Notify page.- Select the Add button, located in the Contacts heading.
- A window will open asking you to enter a name for the contact. Once you have entered the name in the text field, click OK.
Find the Contact Profile area to the right of the
Contacts list. The heading should display your new contact
name.If you plan on sending automatic email notifications or allowing Eyecopia Remote connections for this contact, complete the next three steps. If not, you can skip down to step 8.
First, enter the email address for this contact in the text field next to Email Address.- Now, you can select whether this contact should receive just a text notification, text with a still image, or text with the entire video when an event occurs. Select the option button next to your choice.
- If there is a limit to the attachment size that your contact's email account can receive, you may move the Attachment Limit slider from Unlimited to a set limit.
- If you would like to send cell phone notifications, enter the cell number and select the cell provider from the drop down box. If you do not see the right provider listed, you can select Other from the drop down list and define a custom provider. If you are unsure of the email format, please contact us and we may be able to assist you.
- To allow your new contact to connect through Eyecopia Remote, they must have a password. Click on the Set Password button to open a dialog window. Enter a password for your contact here. You may change the password at any time, but you will need to communicate this to your contact or they will be unable to connect through Eyecopia Remote.
- If you want your new contact to be able to use Eyecopia Remote, the easiest way to let them know about it is to invite them to connect. You can do this from within Eyecopia by clicking on the Invite button. Eyecopia will automatically generate an email that will introduce your contact to Eyecopia and share with them the information they need to connect to your system with Eyecopia Remote. Before inviting someone to use Eyecopia Remote, you must already have set a password for the contact.
