Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-How to Send Event Notifications with Eyecopia-
A critical function of Eyecopia is it's ability to send automatic notifications of Eyecopia events in a variety of ways according to your specific needs, so it is important that you understand how to do this. This guide assumes you have already added your camera devices to Eyecopia and know how to setup Eyecopia to monitor those cameras for Eyecopia events. If you have not done so and would like some assistance, please view our guides on how to add a camera to Eyecopia and how to monitor your camera with Eyecopia.
In Eyecopia, automatic notifications can be sent through email, cell device and to Eyecopia Remote. If you are interested in allowing remote connections through Eyecopia Remote, you may also want to read our guide on connecting to Eyecopia with Eyecopia Remote.
If you have successfully added your cameras to Eyecopia, please use the process below to find out how to send automatic notifications of Eyecopia events.
Send notifications:
- Open Eyecopia, and go to the Notify page.
- For Eyecopia to send notifications, it needs to know who is receiving them. If you have already added your notification contacts, continue to the next step. If you have no contacts, please read our guide on how to add contacts to Eyecopia before you continue with this guide.
- Eyecopia now needs to know when you would like this contact to receive notifications and whether the contact should receive events from all cameras or only from specific cameras. To do this, you will create notification schedules. Notification schedules allow you to specify time-specific access rights to individual contacts for all notification methods and for Eyecopia Remote access. The first step in creating a notification schedule is to go to the Contacts list and select the contact to whom you would like to send event notifications.
- Now, decide if this contact should receive notification from all of
your connected cameras, or from a specific camera device.
- If you choose the first option, then just click on the Add button next to the Schedules-All Cameras heading.
- If you do not want to send this contact notifications from all of your cameras, use the Camera Selector to select the camera you want to send notifications. Then, select the Add button next to the Schedules-selected camera name heading.
- You can now define your notification schedule in the Edit Schedule dialog window. You can read more about how to create and edit schedules using the Edit Schedule window here. When you are satisfied with the schedule, click OK.
- Next, you will define the type of notification action for Eyecopia to complete. For every schedule you create, you will see three toggle buttons. The Remote button represents Eyecopia Remote access. The Email button represents email notifications, while the Cell button represents cell notifications. Use these buttons to turn on or off each of these features for each notification schedule on an individual contact basis. Remember, like all toggle buttons in Eyecopia, these buttons are highlighted when on and light gray when off.
- Finally, in the toolbar at the top of the interface, turn the Monitoring Override and Notifications Override to ON.
- Congratulations! Now, when new events occur Eyecopia will send notifications according to your needs. Eyecopia will keep everyone informed and you don't have to lift a finger!
