Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Eyecopia Popup Notification Overview-
When Eyecopia is minimized or running from your system tray, the program can still alert you of events and information by displaying popup notifications. The popup window is very useful in keeping tabs on your Eyecopia system while operating in your professional environment.
Popup Activation
You can toggle popups on or off by using the Notifications Override in the main interface toolbar or right-clicking the Eyecopia system tray icon and selecting the Allow Notifications option. Also, when you right-click to display the popup menu of the system tray you will see the Auto-dismiss popups option. This will clear popups after a few seconds if checked, or leave the popups displayed if unchecked.
Popup Information
The main purpose for the popup window is to let you know an event has occurred on a camera that is actively monitored. A popup notification displays the following information:
- The date and time that the event occurred
- The name of the camera that captured the event
- An image of the beginning of the event, with the area where motion was detected highlighted in a green circle
The popup window also provides a helpful shortcut. If you click on the image in the popup window, you can jump to the Monitor page of that camera in the Eyecopia main interface.
Eyecopia also displays system information and contact connections through popup notifications. When a contact logs on to your Eyecopia system through Eyecopia Remote, you will see some information in a popup window, like the one to on the right.
If you encounter a system error, or are performing a system test, you will receive a popup window with a system message. If a system error has occurred, please consider clicking the link to Send an Error Report. This will help us improve future releases of Eyecopia.
Popup Navigation
In addition to the notification information, you may also use the popup window to quickly review all event notifications by using the navigation buttons at the bottom of the window.
- To go to an earlier event notification, select the <Back button.
- To go to a newer event notification, select the Next> button.
- To go to the very first event notification available, select the << button. Eyecopia popups will remember events up to 24 hours; however, if the program is closed the popup event list will be cleared.
- To go to the very latest event notification available, select the >> button.
The navigation buttons will be highlighted if you can carry out their intended action. If the button is disabled, the button cannot be used. For example, when you receive a new event, the display will always jump to the latest event. The two navigation buttons on the right will therefore be disabled, because there is no newer event to display.
