Saving an Archive

Save Archive Dialog

Once you are satisfied with the archive session that is displayed in the Archive Session, you then select the Save Archive button on the Archive page to save the archive. The Save Archive dialog will open, shown on the right. From this dialog, you can modify three settings:

  1. Events in the archive can be deleted from your computer once the archive has been successfully created. If you would like to delete the events, select the second radio button next to Delete the events. If you would prefer to keep the events, select the first radio button next to Keep the events. This option is aimed at users who are creating an archive to share with others instead of for storage.
  2. You can define where the archive is created by specifying the file location. Use the Browse button to locate the location. You can select to place the archive directly onto a networked or removable drive, if applicable. If you are creating an archive to go to CD or DVD, the process will depend on your system. Eyecopia does not burn data directly to CD or DVD. Instead, select a temporary location to hold the bundled archive data. Then, through your typical CD or DVD burning process, specify that temporary location as the data you want burned to disk. Software, such as Roxio or Nero, are often part of the original installation on your computer to complete this task. After the CD or DVD is created, be sure to delete the data in the temporary archive location.
  3. You can customize the name of your archive in the last text field.

Once you are satisfied with these three settings, click the OK button. If you change your mind about making an archive or what the archive contains, click the Cancel button to return to the Archive page. If you select OK, you will see a progress bar indicating the archive is being built. When it is completed, you will receive a dialog indicating that the archive was successfully completed.

To view events you have archived, open Eyecopia's Archive Viewer. The Archive Viewer is also available to your friends, family, or even the authorities for free so that they can view your complete archive sessions, including event videos and notes.
