Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Camera Setup Wizard: Motion Mask-
A mask is applied to the camera frame to eliminate unwanted motion, such as cars driving down the street or a tree branch swaying in the wind. Place the mask over the area you do not wish to trigger events. If there is continuous motion within the camera's view, many events may be generated. Masking is a technique that allows you to help the camera decide what motion is important to record. Masking is only used in the motion detection process, and does not alter the event video in any way.
Masking Controls
The following masking options are available to you through the Camera Setup Wizard:
- Select: This tool allows you to select a section of the mask you have previously drawn. Once a section of the mask is selected, you may continue to use the Select tool to modify the section's size and location in the frame.
- Ellipse: This tool allows you to mask out an elliptical area of the camera frame. To add an ellipse, select this tool by clicking the Ellipse toggle button. Then, click in the frame and drag to draw the ellipse. Once you release the mouse button, the Select tool will be automatically selected to allow you to modify the new ellipse's size and location.
- Rectangle: Just like the Ellipse tool, this tool allows you to mask out an area of the camera frame, but this does it with a rectangular mask. To add a rectangle, select this tool by clicking the Rectangle toggle button. Then, click in the frame and drag to draw the rectangle. Once you release the mouse button, the Select tool will be automatically selected to allow you to modify the new rectangle's size and location.
- Remove: This tool removes the currently selected section of the mask. To remove a section, first select it using the Select tool. Then, click the Remove tool and that section will be removed from the mask.
- Clear: This tool clears the mask, opening up the entire camera frame for motion detection. Use this to remove all previous masks and start drawing the mask from scratch.
