Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Camera Setup Wizard: Launch External Program-
Eyecopia provides the ability to start an external program on your system when events are created. This feature can be useful if you would like to conduct some external task like copying files to another location or initiate a security measure, such as turning on lights through a home automation program.
If you do not want to utilize this feature, just leave the fields blank.
Program Selection
In the Program to launch field, please specify an external program. You can use the Browse button to locate the application from your file system.
Program Parameters
The launch parameters allow Eyecopia to send information about the triggering event to the external program. Click on the parameter button to include it in the information sent to the program. Each parameter is described below.
- The Event Video File parameter identifies the absolute system path to the Eyecopia video event.
- The Event Image File parameter identifies the absolute system path to the Eyecopia image file. This image is the same as the preview image Eyecopia uses on the Monitor page, with the motion highlighted in a green circle.
- The Camera Name parameter identifies the name of the specific camera which triggered the launch external program action.
Program State
You can decide what state to run the launched program. The options for this feature are normal, hidden, maximized, or minimized. Select your preferred option from the drop down box next to Allow the program to run.
Program Launch Trigger
The final setting for this feature defines when Eyecopia launches the specified program and sends the specified information. Checking the box next to Wait for the event video to finish recording before launching the program will cause the program to launch after an event is completed. Leaving the option unchecked will cause the program to be launched once an event is determined to have started.
