Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Camera Setup Wizard: Motion Detection Settings-
These motion detection settings are used by Eyecopia to determine what you would like to consider an Eyecopia event for each specific camera.
Time before motion
Eyecopia will automatically keep a running buffer of video in the background for each camera. This setting tells Eyecopia how long that buffer should be. When motion is detected, Eyecopia will start the event with this buffer, so you can see what happened just before the actual motion was detected. This setting can be adjusted from 1 to 5 seconds.
Motion trigger
This setting indicates what level of motion Eyecopia should consider to be event-worthy. The farther to the left you drag the slider bar, the more sensitive Eyecopia will be to motion in the camera's view. This setting can be adjusted from very sensitive to large motion only. To help you determine the right setting for your camera, the motion indicator will show a highlighted meter corresponding to the amount of motion detected in the camera. The gray meter underneath indicates the level at which Eyecopia will start an event. As you change the motion trigger level, the gray meter will adjust at the same time.
Continuing motion
Once an event has started recording, Eyecopia will continue recording as long as there is motion. This setting allows you to keep recording when the motion level has dropped below the motion trigger setting. You can adjust this setting from much more sensitive to same sensitivity.
Time after last motion
Once the motion level has dropped below the continuing motion setting, Eyecopia will want to wrap up the event. This setting allows you to continue recording just a bit longer, in case there is a short period of no motion in the camera's view followed by additional motion. By extending this setting, you will end up with fewer and longer events. The time can be adjusted from 1 to 5 seconds.
Ignore motion shorter than
In certain conditions, Eyecopia will create events that you do not want to consider true events. Usually this is due to strong light-changing conditions, camera interference, or just short motion that you don't care about- like traffic in front of your office. Use this setting to tell Eyecopia to ignore motion that occurs within this timeframe. You may see an event show up in the Event Inbox and quickly be removed if the motion did not last longer than your defined setting. The time for this setting can be adjusted from no limit to 5 seconds.
