Camera Web Publishing Step in Camera Setup Wizard

Eyecopia provides the ability to publish certain information from each camera connected to your Eyecopia server. Like all features in the Camera Setup Wizard, each camera can have its own unique web publishing settings. In order to take advantage of this feature, you must specify where you would like this information published by providing your Eyecopia Web Publishing settings.

Allow web publishing

To turn on web publishing for the selected camera, check Enable web publishing for this camera. If this checkbox is unchecked, no information about this camera will be uploaded to the web.

Live Image Update

The first web publishing option allows you to specify how often Eyecopia uploads the latest live image to the web. Move the slider under Update the live image every X to your preferred time interval between the range of 1 second to 60 seconds. Please consider the speed of your internet connection when setting this interval. Since larger resolutions create larger images, reducing the resolution of your camera may allow you to decrease this time interval.

Event Publishing

This feature allows you to specify how many Eyecopia events are published. Limiting the amount of events stored on your website will improve performance of your Eyecopia server website, and can prevent overages of disk space, which can be costly on remote servers. You can move the slider under Publish up to X events to define how many events you want published.

Snapshot Update

Eyecopia will also save snapshots of your camera's live view. Snapshots are simply live images from the camera that are archived on your web server. Snapshots can be useful when you want to quickly gather information about recent activity from your Eyecopia system. If you use the Eyecopia default web templates, these snapshots are used to create a timelapse view from each camera on the website. Move the slider under Save a snapshot every X to set the amount of time that passes between snapshots. You can specify the time interval betwen snapshots by moving the slider between the range of 10 seconds and an hour.

Folder Location

In the text field next to Publish to this folder you can specify a folder name. This is the name of the sub-directory folder that Eyecopia will create on your server. It will be used to store information specific to this camera, such as live images and event videos. It will default to the name of the camera, but you can modify it to your preference.
