Eyecopia 2.0 Help System
-Eyecopia in your System Tray-
Eyecopia Tray Icon
When Eyecopia is running, an icon will show up in your system tray. This icon will change depending on the system status. All possible icons are shown below, along with the status the icon may represent.
If your system tray icon is gray, then Eyecopia is not actively monitoring
any cameras. This may be because you have no connected cameras, or all
connected cameras may be on a monitoring schedule which are inactive for
this time period.
If
your system tray icon is yellow, then Eyecopia is actively monitoring
at least one camera.
The system tray icon will also change if you have new events that you have not seen yet. The icon will flash momentarily and remain highlighted until the events have been viewed. You can also find out how many new events there are and how many cameras Eyecopia is actively monitoring by hovering over the icon with your mouse. A note like the one shown to the right will appear.
System Tray Menu
When you right-click the icon in the system tray, you will see the following menu options:
- Show Eyecopia
By clicking this, you will open the main application window. You can also do this by simply double-clicking the icon. - Show live view
By clicking this, you will open the Eyecopia Live window. This will allow you to watch a live view of any connected camera without opening the Eyecopia main interface. - Show me again
When you select this, Eyecopia will redisplay the last popup notification you received. If you click on the image in the notification, the main program interface will open directly to the Monitor page and the selected notification event displayed in the Event View. - Show popups locally
The default for this option is checked. You can uncheck this option to stop popup notifications from being displayed on your computer. Notifications to remote computers will still be active, if notification schedules are set to send them. - Auto-dismiss popups
The default for this option is checked, so that popup notifications automatically dismiss after a few seconds. You can uncheck this option to require popups to be manually closed. To manually close a popup, you will need to select the
icon in the top right corner
of the popup. Error and system messages are not auto-dismissed. - Monitor cameras
The default for this option is checked. You can uncheck this option to turn all monitoring off. This does the same thing as the Monitor Override feature in the Eyecopia toolbar. - Allow notifications
The default for this option is checked. You can uncheck this option to stop notifications. This does the same thing as the Notifications Override in the Eyecopia toolbar. - Close Eyecopia
This option will close the program completely. Remember that due to Eyecopia's monitoring functionality, the program does not simply close when the main application window is closed. See other methods of closing the Eyecopia program here.
