-Eyecopia Troubleshooting: Not Sending Emails or Email Notifications-

"I can't get Eyecopia to send emails or email notifications"

If you are unable to send emails at all, either through email notifications or manually emailing an event, then you are most likely experiencing issues with configuring your outgoing email settings. If you encounter this issue, your first step should be to read through our overview of Eyecopia's Email Settings, available on the Setup page under General Settings. Once you have defined your outgoing email settings, be sure to test your settings. If you do not receive a successful test message, please check the following:

  1. Check that your internet service is connected
  2. Verify the outgoing email information is correct. If you are uncertain what settings to use, we recommend that you consult your Internet Service Provider documentation for your outgoing mail server information. If you have a local mail program like Outlook or Thunderbird, you can also find this information by looking within the Email Accounts information, usually accessed through the Tools or Options menu

If you are able to successfully send an email when using the Send To feature, but are unable to receive email notifications, then the issue is related to your:

  1. Check that both the Monitor Override and the Notification Override toggle buttons are set to ON
  2. Check that you have provided the correctly formatted email address in the Contact Profile on the Notify page
  3. Make sure that you have created Notification Schedules and that they are active for the current time period
  4. Make sure that the Email button is toggled on for the appropriate schedule and contact
  5. Make sure that the camera which is supposed to be sending notifications is actively monitoring. You can quickly check this by looking at the status icon in the live view. Of course, a foolproof method of checking this would be to create a test event and verifying that an event appears in your Event Inbox
  6. Send in an error report if you have reviewed all other possible causes and are still experiencing this issue
