Eyecopia Remote 2.0 Help System

-Intro Tutorial III: Interact with Eyecopia Remote-

The final part of this tutorial will show you some of the neat ways you can use Eyecopia Remote.

Let's get started!

  1. Go to the Live page by clicking on the Live tab on the bottom left side of the program interface. If you are successfully connected to your new Eyecopia server, you may see a live view image displayed on this page from one of the cameras monitored by your newly connected server. You may use the Camera Selector on the bottom of the page to switch to other cameras monitored by the Eyecopia server, if there are any. If you only see a written message instead of an image, check your connection status on the Setup page. You will not be able to complete this activity if the owner of the Eyecopia server has turned off the program, has not given you access rights to this feature, or if the cameras on this Eyecopia server are not being actively monitored at the owner's request.
  2. This next activity entirely depends on whether there is any activity occurring on one of the cameras monitored by your newly connected Eyecopia server. Hopefully, during the course of this tutorial, at least some motion has occurred in the view of a camera. If it has, the Eyecopia server will have detected it and created an event file. It will then send an event notification to your Eyecopia Remote program. Two main things will happen when this occurs:
    • A small popup window, like the one on the left, will be displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of your desktop. The popup will show you an image from when motion began and highlight that motion with a green circle. Other information will be displayed on this popup as well. You can click the image on the popup to be taken directly to the Live page and possibly see the activity in progress!
    • Now, when you go to the Notify page, you will see a record of your new notification(s). This looks very similar to the popup window. You can use the navigation buttons at the bottom of the page to move between different events.
  3. Let's do one more activity, just for fun. Once you receive an event notification, go to the Notify page and click the Email me the video link at the bottom of the page. If you have properly set up your email address on the Contact page, you should soon receive an email from the Eyecopia server with a full video attachment of the event! Open the attachment and view the video in any standard video player.
  4. Congratulations! You now know the basics of how to interact with your Eyecopia Remote program.
