Eyecopia Remote System Tray Icon

When Eyecopia Remote is running, an icon will show up in your system tray. This icon will change depending on the system status. The icons are shown below, along with the possible status (in bold) the icon may represent. A brief description follows each status message.

If your system tray icon is green, then all Eyecopia servers that you have chosen to connect with are successfully connected. This status ignores any server that you have manually disconnected an Eyecopia server.

If your system tray icon is yellow, then at least one of the Eyecopia servers that you have trying to connect with is either still attempting a connection or has been unable to connect.

If your system tray icon is red, then none of your Eyecopia servers are connected. This may be due to manual disconnection by yourself or it may be due to a connection issue.

If your system tray icon is yellow or red and you do not know why, open the Eyecopia Remote interface, click on the Setup tab and look at the status messages available for each available server. To learn more about what these status messages may mean, follow this link.

The system tray icon will also change if you have new events that you have not seen yet. The icon will flash momentarily and remain highlighted until the events have been viewed. You can also find out how many servers Eyecopia Remote has connected to by hovering over the icon with your mouse.

System Tray Menu

When you right-click the icon in the system tray, you will see the following menu options:

  • Show Eyecopia Remote: By clicking this, you will open the main application window. You can also do this by simply double-clicking the icon.
  • Show me again: By selecting this, you will see the last popup notification you received.

If you click on the image in the notification, the main program interface will open directly to the Live View and the active camera view will be the one that sent the notification you clicked on.

  • Auto-dismiss popups: This is a checkable option. You may either check this option to automatically dismiss popups after a few seconds or, if there is already a checkmark, select it again to uncheck it and require popups to be manually closed. To manually close, you will need to select the icon at the top right-hand corner of the popup.
  • Allow notifications: This is a checkable option. You may either check this option to allow notifications or, if there is already a checkmark, select it again to uncheck it and stop notifications. This does the same thing as the Notify Override Feature in the toolbar.
  • Auto-start Eyecopia Remote: This is a checkable option. You may check this option to have Eyecopia Remote start whenever you log in to Windows. If there is already a checkmark, select it again to uncheck it and prevent Eyecopia Remote from starting automatically.
  • Close Eyecopia Remote: This will close the program completely.
